Families usually come to see us when they have tried everything they can. We work with as many members of the family (whether related or not) that choose to come. We won’t turn you away if the person you’re most worried about doesn’t want to come, but we will include them as though they were physically in the room.
Families develop shorthand ways of communicating that become a habit. When something becomes a habit, the rules for family living are often unspoken and invisible. Therapy can make these invisible rules visible and help bring about change.
